If you receive (or send) a link to a video in a chat message, you'll see a preview of the video right in your chat window. Click the preview, and the video will play right there.
This is a feature that was initially rolled out as a Google Talk gadget, playing videos from YouTube and Google Video without opening up a whole new web page. If you paste a link to a video from YouTube or Google Video in a conversation, Google shows a clickable thumbnail image that will start an inline video player. Cool!...
