saving captain phillipsBack in January of this year, we saw the dramatic story of Flight 1549 landing in the Hudson River become the Hero on the Hudson video game.

Now, it’s happened again.  The daring rescue of a U.S. Navy captain held captive by pirates has now led to the launch of a video game.  Saving Captain Phillips, by online gaming site Games2Win, lets you act out the pirate rescue with your own computer.

Saving Captain Phillips is a Flash-based game that you can play for free.  Take shots at the pirates and try to save the captain!

Games2Win isn’t alone.  Kuma Games also recently debuted its version of the ‘save a captain’ game called Somali Showdown: Pirates on the High Seas.
