Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who once campaigned with former Alaska governor Sarah Palin while she was running for higher office back in 2008, is apparently now getting the cold shoulder from the potential presidential candidate. A close friend says that the two haven’t spoken in several months.
“I think Elisabeth is a good friend. She remembers birthdays and even with a busy schedule always takes time to stay in touch with her girlfriends,” a friend told PopEater. “But Sarah has let her down. Elisabeth has reached out to her several times but she never responds.”
Word is, Elisabeth “has stopped trying altogether and doesn’t care who knows.”
Hasselbeck recently accused Palin of “manipulating” the media in order to take attention away from Mitt Romney and made fun of Sarah’s recent bus tour across the U.S.
When Palin blew through New Hampshire on the day Romney tossed his hat into the ring, The View star was clearly perturbed.
“If I had termites in my house, I’d get someone in there who could deal with it,” Hasselbeck said. “Mitt Romney, right now, his specialty is the economy. I’d have him in there. Here’s why we’re not hearing it: because Sarah Palin’s on a bus, and right now she’s manipulating, in terms of media attention.”
Even before that incident, Elisabeth had previously condemned Sarah Palin’s use of “crosshairs” on a fundraising website, referring to them as “despicable” after Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot earlier this year.
