Here’s something unconventional. Pepsi Japan has announced that it will roll out its newest soda flavor, “Salty Watermelon Pepsi,” in Japan for a limited time beginning July 24.
Many are already predicting that Salty Watermelon Pepsi will outdo the company’s past bomb: Ice Cucumber Pepsi.
Salty Watermelon is capitalizing on the latest Japanese craze where people sprinkle salt on watermelon to bring out the flavor.
The new flavor will join the company’s other regional offerings, including “Pepsi White,” which is infused with yogurt and “Pepsi Pink,” which has a strawberry milk taste.
Meanwhile, Coca-Cola has its own unique lineup in Japan. ”The Wellness” is a clear and unflavored soda marketed as “Beauty drinks designed for women who want to look their best at all times.”
There’s no word on whether of these interesting flavors will be rolled out in the U.S.
