Sage StalloneSage Stallone, Sylvester Stallone‘s 36-year-old son who starred alongside his dad in the film “Rocky V,” was found dead in his Hollywood apartment yesterday.

Sources say the younger Stallone likely died of an overdose.  The LAPD says there is “no suspicion of foul play or criminal activity.”

Sage was Sylvester Stallone’s oldest son from his first marriage to Sasha Czack. Sage is survived by his brother, Seargeoh, as well as his three half-sisters Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet.

Sage made his big screen debut portraying Robert Balboa, Rocky’s son, in 1990′s “Rocky V.” The movie was a flop, with Sylvester Stallone saying that the time that the reason he made the film was “I’m greedy – what can I tell you… It was a mistake because the audience didn’t want to see the downside of the character. They wanted him to remain on top.”

Sage Stallone also appeared on-screen with his dad in the 1996 movie “Daylight,” but he later would give up acting to become a co-founder of Grindhouse Releasing. Along with partner and film editor Bob Murawski, Sage Stallone’s company restored and re-released old school exploitation films from the 1970s and 1980s. Grindhouse Releasing wound up partnering with Quentin Tarantino to bring Lucio Fulci’s horror film “The Beyond” to the big screen in 2010.

Sylvester Stallone has not commented on his son’s death.
