Russell BrandPolice in New Orleans have issued an arrest warrant for actor Russell Brand, thanks to his run-in with a photographer earlier this week.

Brand was named in a police report on Monday night after he allegedly snatched a photographer’s iPhone from his hand and tossed it through the window of a local law firm.

The photographer, Timothy Jackson, filed a police report afterwards, citing “criminal damages.”

According to Jackson’s version of the story, he had been out with several other members of the paparazzi when he began snapping photos of Brand, 36, with his iPhone.

The actor then allegedly “flipped out,” snatched the cell phone, and hurled it at a building, breaking a window.

Brand later tweeted about the incident, writing, “Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory.”

Brand, who split up with wife Katy Perry in 2011, is currently filming a new movie in New Orleans.

His representatives have reportedly gotten in touch with the law firm in questions and offered to pay for the broken window.

In 2010, Brand was arrested on suspected battery charges after he allegedly went at it with a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport. He and his attorneys came to an undisclosed agreement with the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office and he avoided any repercussions.
