Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has been rushed to a hospital in Hawaii following a suspected heart attack.
Paramedics responded to a call at 2:42 p.m. local time (7:42 p.m. EST) from the Kahala Hotel and Resort, where it was said that Limbaugh was suffering from “chest pains.”
One source said:
“Limbaugh was sitting in a chair in his ninth-floor hotel room at the Kahala when emergency crews arrived… He told medical crews that he was taking medication for a back problem.”
The hotel was very careful to get the “mystery patient” out of the resort without being seen.
Local reports claim that Limbaugh, 58, was in serious condition at Honolulu’s Queen’s Medical Center after being treated at a hotel by paramedics.
A Limbaugh rep says:
“Rush was admitted to and is resting comfortably in a Honolulu hospital today after suffering chest pains.”
Limbaugh left for his annual Christmas vacation on Dec. 23 and is due to return to his show on Jan. 4. Kit Carson, Limbaugh’s chief of staff, told The Associated Press that he didn’t have any information on whether that schedule would change.
Limbaugh has suffered from various health issues previously, including excessive weight and addition to pain killers.
