Last Saturday, Tiffany Kauth took her 4-year-old boxer, Sugar, to obedience class. There, Sugar suffered a seizure.
Kauth told NBC News, “I was absolutely certain that I was losing my dog.”
Fortunately, dog trainer Ron Pace made a ballsy call and started performing CPR on the dog, including mouth-to-mouth. Of course, Pace had never been trained in doggy CPR, but that didn’t stop him from giving it a go.
After going at it for two minutes, Sugar came back to life.
Regarding the improvised CPR, Pace, 54, says, “It may not have been the correct way to do it… but it’s the outcome that’s important.”
While I’m happy that the dog is OK, if something like that ever happened to my dog, I’m afraid he’s going to little doggy heaven. There’s no way I’m giving a dog mouth-to-mouth.
