The condition of Rivers Cuomo, lead singer of the band Weezer, is improving significantly following a bus crash over the weekend. Cuomo suffered a punctured lung and a damaged spleen as a result of the accident, according to the band’s website.
Cuomo “went from being barely able to talk and open his eyes yesterday to partially sitting up, talking clearly, reading books and checking the internet.”
Rivers’ blood pressure has also improved, his spleen is “no longer leaking” and his injured lung is “gaining strength.”
On Tuesday, he hopes to see whether or not he can stand up yet. If he can, he may get out of the hospital “pretty soon.”
