Rapper Ortega Henderson Dies from Gunshot Wounds

St. Louis rapper Ortega Henderson died this morning from gunshot wounds he sustained in a May 16 shooting.

The 25-year-old Henderson, known “Tega” on the streets, was part Nelly’s hip-hop crew, the St. Lunatics.

Ortega Henderson had been working on albums for the St. Lunatics and Da Camp (another St. Louis group) at the time of his death.

Fellow St. Lunatics rapper Kyjuan Cleveland spoke to the media regarding Henderson’s struggle to escape the streets and rise above his past.

Cleveland said:

“He got mixed up in the streets, but he was so talented, we thought we could pull him out of it. He was on the right path for a minute, but times are hard and he started getting around the wrong people.”
