Radiohead is on a machine.
That mission is to put an end to put an end to record labels that abuse for their own benefit.
In fact, the band, along with several other popular artists, recently formed the Featured Artists Coalition, a group whose goal is to end the extortion-like practices of record labels and give control of the music back to the musicians.
Now, Radiohead is taking things a step further.
In the case of Joel Tenenbaum, a student at Boston University, vs the RIAA, the band’s members will testify against the RIAA. Tenenbaum first got into serious trouble back in 2003, when he decided to decline a settlement offer of $500 from the RIAA. There were some more settlement attempts and then the case eventually wound up in court.
Coming to Tenenbaum’s aid in the courtroom are Professor Charles Nesson along with his law students.
Tenenbaum’s lawyers confirm that Radiohead will testify against the RIAA:
“We met with Radiohead’s manager two weeks ago here at Harvard Law School. Professor Nesson walked away with the impression that their manager agreed to do so.”
