Uchitel, a 36-year-old former nightclub hostess, married the 26-year-old at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas on October 2nd.
“Matt and I were married in front of 12 friends on Sunday night at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, where everyone from Michael Jordan to Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, to Britney Spears were married,” Uchitel said. “We are really happy and feel extremely fortunate to have one another.”
In 2004, Uchitel had previously married stock trader Steven Ehrenkranz, but that marriage ended after four months.
Uchitel was also romantically linked to Bones actor David Boreanaz, but neither would confirm those rumors. Boreanaz and his wife Jaime Bergman attended the Emmy Awards last month and seemed to be doing just fine.
Rachel Uchitel discussed her “love addiction” and prescription drug abuse on the fourth season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.
“I don’t have a trigger that makes me get into a relationship,” Uchitel said on the show. “I’ve never dated anybody. I don’t do that. I don’t know how to do that. I go right into a relationship. Usually the relationships I get into are intense. We’re not talking about sex, we’re just talking about the connection.”
When told by Dr. Drew Pinsky to go out and look for connections that are “less intense” and “more boring”, she said: “I’m too much for them to handle but I get sucked in because the other person is pulling me in.”
Uchitel and Woods, whose wife Elin Nordegren filed for divorce after word of the cheating scandal got out, have never confirmed that they were together. She has merely said that she has “hung out” with major celebrities but mostly just feels lonely.
Pinsky said he believes that her relationship issues are probably the result of some abandonment issues. Rachel’s father died of a cocaine overdose when she was just 15 and Uchitel’s fiancee, Andy O’Grady, was killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
A photo of Uchitel holding his picture ran in the New York Post at the time.
