Microsoft’s E3 conference has revealed something awesome. It is called Project Natal and it may just be a Wii killer.
Project Natal is a sensor bar that rests above or below your television set, not unlike the Wii’s. However, as opposed to the bar sensing a controller, this bar contains a camera, sensors and a microphone that helps it figure out exactly what you’re doing.
That’s right, no controller required…Project Natal lets you control games just by moving around, jumping, punching, kicking, etc.
The Xbox will even recognize your face and sign you in automatically.
At the press event, Microsoft showed off a Breakout-like game called Ricochet, which involved hitting a ball across a room to get rid of bricks, and a paint program called Paint Party.
Then there’s Milo.
Peter Molyneux took the stage at the Microsoft E3 press conference to show off a new innovative boy who interacts with players via Project Natal.
A video of a woman interacting with “Milo” was shown. Although creepy at times, “Milo” does things like facial expressions, recognize drawings, and hands-on interactivity like splashing water, for example.
Awesome stuff. You can see video of it below…
