microsoft kinect

Microsoft has finally unveiled Xbox Kinect.  This is the top-secret project we told about last June, formerly known by code name “Project Natal”.  It is the much-awaited and truly amazing controller-free gaming system for the Xbox.

Xbox Kinect looks to be truly amazing.  It can recognize faces, obey vocal commands, and track body movements.  You can control your in-game avatar by simply moving your arms and bodies in front of the Kinect sensor.

A new menu will also allow you to select games or services like Netflix by just reaching out and pointing to your selection.  You can use video chat to connect with your friends and the screen will even get wider when another person comes into the room.

The price and release date for Xbox Kinect have not been officially announced, but many sources believe it will run you about $150, which is pretty reasonable for such an amazing piece of technology.

Check out a demo of Xbox Kinect in clip below, along with a demo of Project Milo, the interactive Kinect project we told you about last June.
