This Saturday right here in our home town of Baltimore, Maryland, we’ll see the 134th running of the Preakness Stakes 2009 at Pimlico Race Course.
The Preakness Stakes is always held on the third Saturday in May.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, long shot Mine That Bird stunned the world at this year’s Kentucky Derby and will be running in the Preakness. History may just favor the horse, as 7 of the last 11 Kentucky Derby winners have gone on to win the Preakness. It might have even been 8 had it not been for the tragic breakdown of Barbaro.
