Peter DinklageIt was one of the most sincere moments from last night’s Golden Globes broadcast.

At the end of his speech after winning the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television, actor Peter Dinklage told viewers to look up a man named Martin Henderson.

“I want to mention a gentleman I’m thinking about in England,” Dinklage said. He was referring to fellow actor Martin Henderson, a dwarf who was left partially paralyzed last year when someone picked him up and tossed him onto the ground outside a pub in England.

Shortly after the assault, Henderson told an English newspaper, “I was at the back of the pub outside and the next thing I know I’m suddenly in the air and someone has got hold of me,” Henderson said. “A man just approached, lifted me up and dropped me. He didn’t say anything.”

Henderson says he’s been unable to find work following the incident.

He believes the attack may have been inspired by an event whereby some members of the English rugby squad attended a “dwarf tossing” event just a few weeks prior.

No arrests have yet been made.
