For the first time in 13 years, Pearl Jam has the #1 album in the USA.
So far, the group’s ninth studio album “Backspacer” has sold 189,000 copies. It is also the fourth time they have held the #1 slot. The group’s previous effort, the self-titled “Pearl Jam”, debuted at number 2 but had sold 279,000 copies.
Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint 3″ album sold another 134,000 copies and slipped to #2 this week, after two weeks at #1. Three Days Grace, meanwhile, debut in the #3 slot with their new album, “Life Starts Now”. It’s their second top five debut.
Whitney Houston lands at #4 this week with “I Look To You” which sold another 66,000 copies this week.
Miley Cyrus hits #5 with her WalMart-exclusive EP, “The Time of Our Lives” featuring her single “Party in the U.S.A.”
