It’s mid-April, which means this is about the time I start tuning into American Idol to see who’s left and who I think is going to win.
Let me assure you of this, it will NOT be Paul McDonald. The season 10 Top 8 finalist took to the stage last night to perform his version of Bob Seger‘s “Old Time Rock & Roll”. It was movie night last night (April 13) and this song was, of course, sung by Tom Cruise in his tightie-whities in the hit film “Risky Business“.
It’s performances like this that make me really miss Simon Cowell. Cowell would have had a field day with this performance. I can just hear him now…
“Look, Paul, I’ve got to be honest…that was absolutely dreadful. It was like a bad karaoke performance on a low-budget cruise ship.”
It really was a terrible performance. He was pitchy and his vocals were all over the place…and what the hell was up with that outfit?
If Paul ever decides to go jogging at night, at least he’s got an outfit for it. You could see him coming a mile away in that get-up.
I hated this performance, which means of course that the judges loved it. Randy Jackson said he thought he had just heard the first number at Paul’s concert. Really, Randy? Really??
You know what the best part of this performance was? The saxophone solo. Check it out below. What did YOU think of Paul’s performance?
