Oregon running back LaMichael James has been busted by police in Springfield.
The tailback, 20, was taken into custody on Wednesday morning and booked into the Lane County Jail on misdemeanor charges of menacing, strangulation and assault.
Springfield police are not yet willing to release any details regarding the incident.
James replaced suspended LeGarrette Blount after first game of the season and had set the Pac-10′s freshman rushing mark this past season with 1,546 yards.
