Twitter will receive an insane amount of publicity later today.
Yesterday on her Facebook page, Oprah Winfrey announced that she has taken ownership of the Twitter name @oprah. Tomorrow, she will broadcast her first tweet from her show.
As if that weren't enough press, Oprah's guest tomorrow will be none other than Ashton Kutcher, the man she refers to as “the King of Twitter,” who will undoubtedly be discussing his race to one million Twitter followers. He'll also be talking about his effort to battle malaria in Africa if he hits the one million mark before CNN.
Knowing what Oprah's loyal fans are like, Twitter could very well experience its biggest influx of new members in history tomorrow. Actually, wouldn't it be funny if Oprah rocketed past both Kutcher AND CNN later today?
