F My Life: It's Funny, It's True, Except When It Happens to You
American Idol. Ah, pure family fun for everyone - well, almost.
It seems that the phone number that was expected to be used to vote for the unlucky 13th contestant isn’t quite what you might think.
You see, the show usually only has twelve contestants so this problem generally doesn't arise. Now that there are thirteen, the plot thickens. The show has used numbers 1-866-IDOLS-01 through 1-866-IDOLS-12 for fans to vote for their favorite singer.
However, the show does NOT own 1-866-IDOLS-13. Who does? A phone sex company.
They're circumventing the problem by giving the 13th contestant a new number, although the number for the first 12 will stay the same. If you don't watch what you are doing, well, you're even might just get a LOT more interesting.
