milwaukee sinkhole 1

It seems like every week there is a new sinkhole opening up and swallowing large things.

This week, a massive sinkhole swallowed up a traffic light and an SUV on Milwaukee’s east side. The driver was able to safely escape from the vehicle. Police report that the vehicle is still running so that he fuel can be drained from its tank.

The massive sinkhole opened up on the corner of Oakland and North Avenues.

The sinkhole could actually get larger if the heavy rains continue. So far, the torrential downpours have forced the closing of Milwaukee Airport.

Construction crews are working to get the SUV out of the sinkhole.

It was just last week that a massive sinkhole in Tampa swallowed a car, and in May, a ginormous sinkhole in Guatemala pretty much destroyed a whole intersection and a few buildings.

Let’s not forget about last year’s sinkhole in L.A. that swallowed up a fire truck.
