F My Life: It's Funny, It's True, Except When It Happens to You
The new MTV show Jersey Shore was already catching some pretty major heat for its negative portrayal of Italian-Americans (of which I am one, by the way).
Now, you can add man on woman violence to the list after showing a preview clip that shows lead character Nicole Polizzi (A.K.A. "Snooki") getting punched in the face by a guido named Lou Ferro, who's a gym teacher in New York City.
Ferro shows some real class hitting a woman, almost as much as that other idiot we discussed earlier this year.
MTV showed a preview clip of the punch after last week's show. The network had planned on airing the scene in the latest episode. They were then going to show a message against domestic violence at the end of the episode.
MTV released a statement on Friday, however, saying they wouldn't be air the clip at all. The network said:
"After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence, and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of context to not show the severity of this act or the resulting consequences, MTV has decided not to air 'Snooki' being physically punched in next week's episode."
Good call, MTV. These clowns don't need any more attention. Next time try punching me instead, punk.
