Another week, another Twitters “first”.
An man from Oklahoma City who tweeted that he would create a bloodbath at an April 15 Tea Party has been charged by the FBI with making interstate threats. This looks to be the first arrest made from posts made on Twitter.
CitizenQuasar (A.K.A. Daniel Knight Hayden, 52) began a series of tweets on April 11 where he promised to wage a “war” against the government on the steps of the Oklahoma City Capitol building, where that city’s “Tea Party” protest was going to take place.
Among the tweets posted by CitizenQuasar, were the following:
“START THE KILLING NOW! I am willing to be the FIRST DEATH!”
“After I am killed on the Capitol Steps, like a REAL man, the rest of you will REMEMBER ME!!!”
“Send the cops around. I will cut their heads off the heads and throw the[m] on the State Capitol steps.”
“Locked AND loaded for the Oklahoma State Capitol. Let’s see what happens.”

As you might imagine, that was enough for the FBI. Agents arrested Hayden at his home a few hours later.
Hayden was arraigned on the April 16 and sent to a halfway house while he awaits his trial. At this time, there is no comment from either Twitter or Hayden’s attorney.
Here are the official charges that were filed:
