Just days after getting 12 stitches in his lower lip, courtesy of an errant elbow on the basketball court, President Barack Obama joked about the Friday incident with reporters.
“Although Washington is supposed to be a town of sharp elbows, it’s getting a little carried away,” Obama said on Monday.
On Friday, the President took a flying elbow from Rey Decerega, director of programs at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.
Obama says his doctors have given him “a clean bill of health.”
“I will continue to be playing basketball whenever I get a chance,” Obama said, adding that he had played with his daughters Sasha and Malia on Sunday. “They took it easy on me because they were feeling pity.”
