Obamameter
The inauguration may be over, but the fun is just beginning for Barack Obama. PolitiFact, the site that brought us the Truth-O-Meter, now brings you the Obamameter.
(By the way, have you seen that amazing new Barack Obama / Martin Luther King Jr. t-shirt?)
Aside from the mud-slinging, baby kissing, attack ads, and general mistrust of most political campaigns, they are seldom followed up with any actual follow through. Promises are always made, but very few are ever fulfilled.
Enter the Obamameter.
the Obamameter is a site that tracks the progress of campaign promises made by Barack Obama. From “Eliminate all oil and gas tax loopholes” to “Expand the earned income tax credit”, they’ve covered them all.
Personally, I think it’s a great idea because it might help politicians keep their promises, for a change. Time will tell.
(UPDATE: Sources tell us that this site has been referred to as the Obamameter, but the actual name on the site itself appears to be Obameter. We’ll see if we can clarify.)
