Just when you thought we had a new President – well, we still do. It’s just that, after all of the pomp and circumstance yesterday, the oath itself was flubbed a bit.
So, President Obama retook the oath today in the Oval Office, just to make sure he had all his ducks in a row.
“We believe that the oath of office was administered effectively and that the President was sworn in appropriately yesterday,” White House Counsel Greg Craig explained. “But the oath appears in the Constitution itself. And out of an abundance of caution, because there was one word out of sequence, Chief Justice Roberts administered the oath a second time.”
So, have no fear. Obama is here – for real this time.
