The leader of the free world, President Barack Obama, taped an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman on Monday afternoon.
By the time President Obama took the stage, Dave had already provided 10 reasons why the president had agreed to do it.
Among the best answers: Obama said yes without thinking about it, “Like Bush did with Iraq.”
Obama also offered up his a great answer in response to the question of whether some of the reaction to his health care plan is racially driven.
“First of all, I think it’s important to realize that I was actually black before the election,” Obama said, which drew a huge response from Letterman and the studio audience.
Letterman quipped, “How long have you been a black man?”
Letterman and Obama covered several topics, many serious, in a session that ran went 40 minutes. The show will be broadcast on CBS on Monday night.
