F My Life: It's Funny, It's True, Except When It Happens to You
The Secret Service has said that a minor was behind the online Facebook poll asking whether people thought President Barack Obama should be killed.
No criminal charges are to be filed against the juvenile or the parents, spokesperson Edwin Donovan stated. Donovan wouldn't identify the names of the child or the parents.
The poll, which was posted to Facebook on Saturday, was removed from the social networking website quickly once company administrators were notified of its existence. The Secret Service, however, took no chances.
The poll asked "Should Obama be killed?" The poll offered four answers: “Yes”, “No”, “Maybe,” and “If he cuts my health care.”
Secret Service agents met with the child and the parents and ascertained that there was no risk to the the president.
"Case closed," Donovan said. "I guess you could characterize it as a mistake."
