In 2007, Marine Major Brian Dennis rescued Nubs the Dog from the streets of Iraq, where Nubs was being used for fighting.
The story of their unique friendship and Nubs’ transition from dog of combat to relaxed California house pet is so extraordinary that Dennis wrote a children’s book about it.
The book, “Nubs: The True Story of a Mutt, a Marine & a Miracle,” was just published by Little, Brown Young Readers.
TODAY’s Meredith Vieira meets the pair and hears more about their story.
