February 3 is Norman Rockwell‘s birthday. Google has decided to celebrate by using his April 24, 1926 Saturday Evening Post cover as a special Google Doodle.
The painting, “Little Spooners”, was one of his most popular and shows a boy and girl sitting arm-in-arm on a bench as they stare at the sunset.
Google has been generating a lot of buzz lately by posting Google Doodles more often. In January, for example, the search company displayed its first animated Doodle, which depicted an apple falling from a tree to commemorate the birthday of Sir Isaac Newton.
Norman Rockwell was born on February 3, 1894 and died of emphysema in November 1978. He created life illustrations for the Saturday Evening Post magazine over more than four decades.
