Nik Pace Sues Braylon Edwards for Child Support

Is New York Jets receiver Braylon Edwards the semi-proud papa of America’s Next Top Model finalist Nik Pace‘s baby? She says so and is suing Edwards for up to $70,000 per month in child support.

Pace had the baby back in July and, at the time, Edwards filed to be recognized as the dad in the state of Georgia, where the baby was born.

Pace answered by suing Edwards in the state New York. Her attorney, Raoul Felder, was quoted as saying:

“Braylon had tried to get the case litigated in Georgia because they are traditionally less generous with child support payments. It’s a cold, calculated act to pay less money. But we had the case dismissed in Georgia and moved [it] to New York because this is where Nik lives. We served Braylon in the past week. He can run, but he can’t hide.”

Edwards’ lawyer, Randy Kessler, has said:

“Braylon is a proud father who has loved and supported his child since before he was born. He filed in June to declare himself the legal father and she objected.”

Edwards was unexpectedly traded from Cleveland to New York in October. The Jets will host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
