One Russian news reporter is raising a few eyebrows with her obscene gesture that seemed to be aimed at President Barack Obama.
In the video below, Tatyana Limanova, an award-winning senior newsreader at REN TV, can be seen reading a news item about how Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has just assumed the rotating chairmanship of the Asia Pacific Cooperation organization.
She then says the post “has (previously) been held by Barack Obama” before raising her arm and flipping the bird.
The station, which reaches about 120 million people across Russia, has declined to comment.
Some sources claim that Limanova thought she was off-camera at the time and merely doing a voice-over for a report.
Others say the gesture was meant for her in-studio colleagues who were messing around with her while she was on the air.
