Newark Mayor Cory Booker is firing back at Conan O’Brien, albeit jokingly.
Recently, Conan made a wisecrack about the new health care initiative in the New Jersey town the other night, saying:
“The Mayor of Newark, New Jersey wants to set up a city-wide program to improve residents’ health. The health care program would consist of a bus ticket out of Newark.”
Booker fired back by creating a video banning the Tonight Show host from the city’s airport.
In the video (below), Booker calls Newark “one of the fastest-growing cities” on the map and asks residents what they thought of Conan’s remarks.
Then, “according to the powers invested in (him) by the people of the city of Newark,” Booker nukes Conan officially puts him on Newark Airport’s no-fly list.
Well played, sir, well played.
