Burger King has finally gone off the deep end.

A new advertising campaign pairs Burger King up with SpongeBob and women with square butts.  It hasn’t exactly gone over well with parents and conservatives.

In the ad, the already creepy (IMHO) Burger King “King” sings “I Love Square Butts” surrounded by women shaking square butts, yes square butts, in an attempt to promote the new BK Kids Meal that comes with a SpongeBob toy.

Conservatives are accusing Burger King of sexualizing kids meals.

The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood had this to say:

Nickelodeon and Burger King have partnered to produce a new, highly sexualized, ad for a Burger King SpongeBob SquarePants Kids Meal. It is harmful enough when a beloved media icon advertises junk food to children, but selling Kids Meals by associating a beloved, male character like SpongeBob with lechery shows how little either company cares about the well being of the children they target.”

This ad is just bizarre. What child is going to be enticed by women shaking square butts?

As a parent, I’ve got to agree on this one. This commercial is “fail” all the way.

Here is the commercial…
