Applicants can register at http://www.thenationaltree.org.

This year, the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on the Ellipse, just south of the White House, at 5:00 p.m. EST, on Thursday, December 3rd.

The ceremony marks the opening of the annual four-week President's Park holiday event sponsored by the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation, the official charitable partner of America’s National Parks.
