MySpace is partnering with Citysearch to form MySpace Local.
The new venture will mix Citysearch business listings from 1,000 cities with the MySpace community. The site will launch a private beta this week. The main U.S. debut will take place in April.
For now, only restaurants, bars and “nightlife” listings are featured. Eventually, though, the site will feature listings for every business on Citysearch. In turn, users will be able to rate and review businesses (sound familiar?). This activity will be shown on the MySpace activity feed.
In fact, when users first enter MySpace Local, their friends’ reviews will be the first thing they see.
MySpace Local listings will be grouped by city for all major U.S. cities.
A nifty feature coming soon: users will have the ability to make reservations and even upload photos and videos.
