trafficgeyserboxAs you know, I’ve recently begun an experiment with Traffic Geyser.  On Friday, I signed up for the product and watched a couple of training videos.

Over the weekend, I watched the rest of the videos, created a video, and uploaded it to all of the sites that Traffic Geyser supports, which is quite a few, including social bookmarking sites and even podcasting sites.

I had few problems uploading my videos but that was mostly due to a PEBCAC (lol).

So now my videos are uploaded and I’m waiting to see if there will be any results.  So far, the video links have been indexed but they aren’t “dominating the SERP’s”.

The video that I created is #1 when I search “Google VIDEO”, but not Google in general.  I’ve got to wonder…can these things really top the SERP’s even without a ton of backlinks?

I would think that the number of backlinks pointing FROM the videos TO the page you want to advertise would help get THAT page higer rankings, but why would the videos themselves do any better than the rest of the sites listed for my keyphrase if they don’t have any backlinks?

I am using a long-tail to rank the video links, and it has very little competition while having a ton of daily searches, so one would think this wouldn’t be too hard.

We shall see.

As for the video process itself, I actually created the video using another service just because I had found it BEFORE I found Traffic Geyser, and I really like the video that I made.

The interface is easy and there are a couple more videos that I still want to watch.  You do also get a ton of sound clips (royalty free) to use along with your videos.  This comes in handy in a big way.

OK, I’ll give another update in a day or two with my results.
