A man in Minnesota has pleaded guilty to operating his motorized La-Z-Boy chair while intoxicated.
The official criminal complaint states that 62-year-old Dennis LeRoy Anderson informed police he left a bar in the town of Proctor on his souped-up chair after drinking about nine beers.
Anderson’s blood alcohol content was 0.29, more than triple the legal limit, when he smashed into a parked car in August of 2008, according to prosecutors. Luckily, he wasn’t injured.
According to police, the motorized La-Z-Boy is powered by a modified lawnmower and even had a radio and cup holders.
Sixth Judicial District Judge Heather Sweetland ordered two years of probation for Mr. Anderson.
