Today, People magazine named Beyonce the World’s Most Beautiful Woman for 2012, describing her as a force of nature, style icon, and of course, a proud mother.
The 30-year-old singer told the magazine that her recently born daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, had given new meaning to her life.
“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” Beyonce said. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”
The “Crazy in Love” singer and 16-time Grammy winner and her husband, Jay-Z, announced the birth of their daughter in January.
“She’s just the cutest thing,” Beyonce told People.
Other celebrities named on the magazine’s most beautiful list included Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, and Elle MacPherson.
Scientists in Great Britain might take issue with People’s selection, however.
They recently had a contest to solve the question of what a beautiful person looks like. The winner was was the blonde-haired and blue-eyed Florence Colgate.
According to the report, Colgate has mathematically perfect looks. She has what’s considered by scientists the “optimum ratio” between her mouth, eyes, chin, and forehead.
