Some more information that's come to light recently regarding yesterday's story about Ebay's lawsuit against Digital Point owner Shawn Hogan...
1) At one point, Shawn apparently thought this was a pretty legit tactic
On Setpember 10th, 2006, Shawn Hogan said the following: "As far as I know, it’s a perfectly legit way to make money via the eBay affiliate program. Also, I think 'cookie stuffing' isn’t entirely accurate… unless you consider a 'normal' affiliate link to be cookie stuffing too." (found over at Wicked Fire)
2) Shawn et al are getting sued under the 1962 Racketeering (RICO) Act
See here for details.
3) Apparently, there are quite a few n00B's at DP now considering this get rich-quick scheme
"lol wow btw he and his frns have gr8 mind and tricks to make money :|"
(Thanks to Nick Wilsdon over at Sphinn for pointing out these factoids)
