An Oregon mom is suing Justin Bieber after she took her daughters to one of his concerts and allegedly wound up with permanent damage to her hearing.
Stacey Betts says she was attending the concert in Portland, Oregon on July 14, 2010 when Biebs climbed into a “heart-shaped aluminum/steel gondola” which was then pulled over the crowd.
As Justin Bieber made his way through the screaming audience, he would point in different directions, causing the pre-teen girls in attendance to scream with excitement. As one point, Stacey claims that Justin “created a wave-like effect of screaming by pointing into various sections of the arena. Then enticed the crowd into a frenzy of screams by continuously waving his arms in a quick and upward motion.”
The Oregon mom says the gondola only made matters worse by acting as a “sound conductor creating a sound blast that permanently damaged both of my ears.”
Betts says the concert left her with tinnitus (ringing of the ears) that makes it next to impossible to sleep. She’s suing Justin Bieber himself, his record label, the concert promoter, and the arena owner.
Who would go to a concert like this without first buying a pair of earplugs? You can get a pair for less than $5.00.
Sounds like just another cash-grabbing lawsuit to me. What do YOU think?
