Remember that crazy video of a dad putting a toddler in a laundromat washing machine, only to find that he had gotten locked inside?
Turns out that guy wasn’t the dad, and the woman that started panicking shortly thereafter wasn’t the mom.
She was the toddler’s babysitter, and the man was her “friend”…and boy is the mom pissed!
The little boy was finally saved when laundromat employee Kong Enh cut power to the machine.
Sakia David, 22, had no idea what had happened to her son, Saimeir Bush, until she saw the surveillance footage for herself.
A woman named Sandra had been charged with watching little Saimeir that day, David said in an interview with the TODAY show. David said that the babysitter is the girlfriend of the boy’s father, who is currently behind bars.
Sandra never said anything about the laundromat incident when David came home from work on May 11, saying instead that Saimeir had taken a tumble down some steps and had hit his head.
David said she doesn’t know the man in the tape, who has been identified only as a friend of the babysitter.
When the furious mother confronted Sandra with the footage, the babysitter denied that it was her.
The Camden County prosecutor’s office decided yesterday not to press any charges against the sitter and her acquaintance.
“This was not an intelligent choice to put the baby in the washing machine, but it was not a crime,” prosecutor’s office spokesman Jason Laughlin told CNN.
David is not satisfied, though, and says she plans to press charges against Sandra.
“I left my child in her custody, she sat there and watched him put my baby in the washer, so it’s both their fault,” David told the TODAY show.
