Well, we can all breathe a sigh of relief. That nasty Egyptian cobra that escaped from the Bronx Zoo earlier this week has been found.
Zoo staff found the snake holed up in a dark corner of the Reptile House at about 9 a.m. this morning, the director of the zoo said at an afternoon press conference.
“She looks in really good condition,” said Jim Breheny, director of the Bronx Zoo. “Our responsibility is to her to make sure that she’s in good shape and that her welfare is being taken care of.”
The person behind the @BronxZoosCobra Twitter account is seemingly unaware of the snake’s capture. Its last tweet read,
“If you see a bag of peanuts inexplicably moving along the ground at Yankee Stadium today. Just ignore it. It’s probably nothing.”
