Beauty queen Miss Singapore World has surrendered her title after word leaked that she stole a bunch of credit cards and went on a shopping binge to purchase some new lingerie. Hey, a beauty queen’s got to look GOOD, right?
The public had been calling for Ris Low to be stripped of her 2009 crown after local media revealed she had stolen seven different credit cards in 2008 while working at a medical clinic, buying goods valued at approximately S$8,000 (or $5,662 U.S.) including gold anklets and cell phones.
Pageant officials stated that said Low had resigned on Tuesday of her own accord. She will not represent Singapore at the Miss World finals, which will take place in South Africa in December. Her replacement has not yet been determined.
In addition to her cravings for skimpy attire, Low has also been criticized recently for her poor English skills. She mispronounced the word “bikini” in a recent video…a terrible offense, I know.
