If you think natural beauty is overrated, Hungary has the perfect pageant for you. Miss Plastic Hungary 2009 strives to promote the benefits of breast implants, nose jobs and face lifts.

Dr. Tamas Rozsos, a plastic surgeon, says the pageant also tries to prove that cosmetic improvements don't necessarily be about giant breasts and bulbous lips.

"This about restoring harmony, eliminating asymmetries and giving women the opportunity to have normal features," Rozsos said. "Plastic surgery has a bad reputation in Hungary but its mostly due to the exaggerations."

Despite hard economic times, Rozsos claims that the number of procedures has been on the rise year after year.

"People for whom this is important always find the money," Rozsos said.

In order to qualify for the Miss Plastic Hungary 2009 pageant, the 18 residents of Hungary had to provide evidence that they had had at least one full surgery done, simple things like Botox and collagen injections didn't count. Almost all participant flaunted augmented breasts. Modified noses were also hot. One finalist even had her toes surgically adjusted.

Miss Plastic Hungary 2009 candidates had to be at least 18 years of age. Among them were a former gymnast, a firefighter, a mother of three and a bunch of strippers. There was also a special category for women who were over the age of 30.

Reka Urban, a 22-year-old hostess, won an apartment in Budapest. First runner-up Edina Kulcsar was awarded a new car and second runner-up Alexandra Horvath got some diamond jewelry worth 2 million forints (or $10,800). The plastic surgeons of each of the winners also received awards.
