Microsoft Virtual Earth has introduced the Microsoft Virtual Earth Silverlight Map Control Community Technology Preview (CTP), which supports video, animation, and vector graphics.
Platforms now include Silverlight, AJAX, Virtual Earth Web Services or MapPoint Web Service.

Maps for Mobile Devices
Developers can create mobile applications with imagery optimized for cell phones and other mobile devices, even Apple’s iPhone.
Increased Number of Rooftop Views
Microsoft Virtual Earth now features more than 70 percent of all U.S. rooftops.
Bird’s Eye 1 Views and Bird’s Eye Hybrid
These features are only available on Microsoft Virtual Earth. These unique views of worldwide locations give you and idea of “what it’s like there.”
3D Imagery
You can now create more realistic 3D views of buildings and landscapes.
Geocoding / Reverse Geocoding
Get even more accurate locations by integrating multiple geocoders.
International Geocoding
Locate international addresses more accurately.
Localized Maps and Directions
Obtain local directions in up to fifteen different languages.
Extended International Parsing
You will see improved match rates for locaations in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
New Virtual Earth Web Services
Developers can take advantage of the new Virtual Earth Web Services API, which offers static map images, direct map tile access, one-box search functionality, geocoding, reverse geocoding, and routing.
Pushpin Clustering
Now you can zoom in to visualize a cluster of points.
Landmark-Based Routing
Get improved directions in North America using familiar landmarks such as gas stations and fast-food restaurants.
Traffic Reports
Avoid traffic jams by analyzing traffic reports that interact with the Microsoft Virtual Earth – features color-coded traffic flow visuals as well.
GeoRSS Feeds
Import shapes, pushpins, and polylines with GeoRSS feeds.
Weather Integration
With 3D view, get near real-time weather and cloud formation data.
