It looks as though Microsoft will give away 2.5 million downloadable copies of it Windows 7 beta release…for free.
The latest operating system from Microsoft was leaked online last year. It has been a very popular download on many P2P sites like BitTorrent.
There are one or two conditions, however. The biggest is that the beta will expire, although you will get to use it until August 1, 2009. The other catch is that the Beta version being released is the upgrade version, so it can only be installed on top of Vista (eek).
The Windows 7 Beta will be available in English, German, Japanese, Arabic, and Hindi, and each language will be available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
You can download the Windows 7 beta here on January 9. Be careful…if you’re using the latest version of Silverlight, it may cause your browser to crash.
