Microsoft's new Kumo engine is coming, probably as early as next week.
Sources are indicating that the company will demonstrate it at the D: All Things Digital conference next week.
Dubbed “Kumo”, the new search engine is Microsoft’s attempt to gain back some of the market share it has lost to Google. This is something that Microsoft needs to address ASAP.
According to the latest figured from comScore, Google’s market share in search climbed to 64.2 percent in April, up from 63.7 percent in March and 61.6 percent 12 months ago.
Meanwhile, Microsoft’s market share for the month of April hit 8.2 percent. This is lower than the 8.3 percent it registered in March and the 9.1 percent it hit one year ago.
