No, that's not a typo.

Microsoft is likely going to unveil its new mobile sync service at the Mobile World Congress at the end of this month in Spain.  The project was formerly called "Skybox", but it now seems that they have changed its name to "MyPhone" - that is, if a website that briefly appeared on the web today is to be trusted.

The website, which was located at getskybox.com, mentioned some new details about Microsoft My Phone.  The service “syncs information between your mobile phone and the web,” according to the screenshot from Engadget Mobile.  The site itself no longer seems to be woring, however several other sites took notice of the site too.

Some of the service's features include:

  • Back up and restore your cell phone’s data to a password-encrypted web site
  • Access and update your contacts as well as your appointments through a web account
  • Share pictures on your phone with family and friends

Sound at all familiar?  Yep, it does seem similar to Apple’s MobileMe, but it also sounds similar to some other Microsoft services, like Live Mesh.  Besides that, it also seem to rhyme with another popular mobile phone that's dominating the market these days.
